“Beauty in architecture is not merely derived from its form; it's a multifaceted impression that sparks exploration of impressions, perceptions, and emotions.”

The true essence of a space must possess the composite attributes of visibility, tangibility, and sensory engagement. The three-dimensional expression of "atmosphere" stems from the deconstruction and specialized recombination of various elements, as well as the meticulous contemplation and refinement of every detail.

This project, situated in Airedale street, Hawthorn East, encompasses nearly a thousand square meters. Prominent projecting terraces enrich the façade, creating architectural aesthetics, bright visuals, and a vibrant atmosphere that harmoniously integrates with the surrounding environment. Its elegant simplicity and subtle curves showcase the beauty of flowing and graceful spatial forms, offering a modern, clean, and spacious ambiance. The use of gleaming copper panels on the exterior, complemented by warm interior wood finishes, exudes a timeless charm. Provides a tranquil space for reflection – understated yet dignified, robust yet warm, exuding a tension built upon accumulated depth.

The design team strategically leveraged the sloping terrain to excavate an entire basement level, extending an inner courtyard that reaches down to the lower level. Sunlight pours in directly, while facilitating excellent ventilation conditions. This arrangement not only bathes the lower level in sunlight but also grants access to the scenic inner courtyard garden. Our approach seamlessly integrates recreation and wellness facilities on this level, efficiently allocating the remaining space for parking. From a perspective of light and air circulation, this floor is virtually indistinguishable from the ground floor.

In response to the lifestyle and aesthetic preferences of the family of six,  established a continuous organizational sequence based on several distinct open spaces, where metal walls and structural columns suggest shifts in spatial functionality. To imbue the residence with a richer structural hierarchy, architects deftly utilized variations in spatial scale for expression. The elevated central hall space shares the second floor, with expansive glass windows offering panoramic views, filling the entire house with sunlight and fostering interaction with the courtyard.

The defining feature of this architecture lies in its connectivity, with each distinct functional area, whether exterior or interior, linked to a courtyard space. Everything converges into the backyard garden, creating a unique haven.
